New Zealand car rental insurance

Our policy is to make car rental easy to have our terms clear. Therefore we have a simple Standard third party New Zealand Car Rental insurance included for free with your New Zealand car rental fee. This means that you are fully insured in case of an accident (excluding personal belongings) for damage to the vehicle or to the property of a Third Party.

You are responsible for the excess, which is the dollar amount the hirer is liable for in the event of vehicle, other vehicle or property damage. This covers the cost of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle, windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break in or vandalism. The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.

Reducing your excess
The excess can be reduced by purchasing CDW (collision damage waiver). Details are outlined under 'Collision Waiver Options' within our ‘Terms & Conditions’.
